Implementing a 4G Network Solution
The client needed to work from home more frequently, but their existing internet speed was less than 100 kbps, with no plans for improvement in the near future. We identified a small piece of higher ground on the property that could receive a 4G signal. By installing an aerial there, we were able to capture and securely transmit the signal to the building. This signal was then distributed throughout the property via both hard-wired network points and wireless access.
The client’s ability to work from home improved dramatically, with virtually unlimited internet capability. The installation caused minimal disruption, and the addition of the aerial and two small equipment installations had no negative impact on the property’s integrity or aesthetics. This solution allowed the client to efficiently perform their work from home, despite the initial connectivity challenges.
Replacement of Ship’s Internet System
A Search and Rescue Vessel required a replacement for its outdated internet and security system to separately cater for vital on-board systems, crew’s personal devices, and third-party devices from Governmental organisations. A PCL Group engineer flew to The Netherlands, travelled to the port of Vlissingen, and boarded the vessel to install an advanced internet system using up-to-date equipment.

Line of Sight Solution for Golf Course
The golf course in rural Scotland faced significant connectivity challenges due to its remote location. Poor mobile signals and the impracticality of running cables necessitated an effective internet solution. We implemented a line of sight solution, which involved installing high-gain antennas and receivers on elevated points to capture and transmit a reliable signal. By leveraging the natural terrain and existing structures, we ensured optimal signal strength and coverage across over 3km for the entire golf course.
