Aberdeen-based PCL Group has become the first IT company headquartered in the city to gain Investors in People (IIP).
Established by CEO Jeanette Forbes 15 years ago PCL Group, a total cabling and IT service provider to the offshore, marine, commercial, industrial and renewable sectors, now employs a team of engineers and support staff.
Formed in 1991, Investors in People was established by the UK Government to help organisations get the best from their people. Accreditation is recognised across the world as a mark of excellence with organisations undergoing a rigorous and objective assessment to determine if they meet the criteria for an IIP standard.
Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People said: “Achieving Investors in People is something that any organisation should be truly proud. It is the sign of a company which is truly committed to good people management practice and we’d like to congratulate PCL Group on their achievement.”
PCL Group was commended on its strong, dedicated team of staff members who have a tremendous sense of ownership and pride in working for the company, who think it is a wonderful company to work for and who are committed to its future success. The company was also praised for it’s on the job training, informal coaching and mentoring which were seen as key strengths.
“We are delighted to have received this accreditation,” said Jeanette. “Although we operate on a global basis we are a locally founded, locally owned company. Our strength has always been in our people so we wanted to acknowledge the contribution they make by working towards IIP accreditation. We really see the value in this and now plan to work towards Investors in Young People.”
