North-east business leader Jeanette Forbes, CEO of PCL Group, was one of the guest panellists at a high-profile event celebrating International Women’s Day on Thursday, March 8.
Organised by Scotland Women in Technology (SWiT), in partnership with the Times and Sunday Times Scotland, she was one of four businesswomen from across the country who took part in a panel discussion on this year’s theme Press for Progress, a strong call to action to press for gender parity across all sectors and communities.
SWiT is a group initiative which aims to attract, inspire, empower and retain women by developing a community and network to help grow women’s contribution in the IT industry. In October last year, Jeanette was named as CEO of the Year at the inaugural SWiT Awards. The awards, the first of their kind, celebrate the achievements of women who have the drive, commitment and passion to further the technology agenda in Scotland.
Joining Jeanette on the podium for the discussion at the event in Glasgow was Sheila Flavell, Chief Operating Officer of FDM Group, Margaret Totten, Worldwide Finalist for Microsoft Partner Seller of the Year and Wendy Pring, MD of KCP.
Jeanette has won a number of awards and industry accolades, many of which recognise the work she does to promote STEM-related career opportunities for women, particularly in the energy sector.
Aberdeen-based PCL Group provides data cabling structures for IT and telecoms systems and the supply, maintenance and support of computer equipment to the offshore, marine, commercial, industrial and renewables sectors.
