Jeanette’s passionate about females being welcomed into her area of work and encourages women to consider a career in the industry. She has some great advice for those wishing to follow in her footsteps.
“I’ve been fortunate to run my own company in the technology and engineering sector for 14 years. It’s a job I love. It’s given me a varied and interesting career and a good living which has enabled me to employ other people.
“My company provides data cabling structures for IT and telecommunications systems and supply, maintenance and support of computer equipment to the offshore, marine, commercial and industrial sectors.
“Now I want to encourage other females from school age upwards to be confident enough to realise that they can overcome the barriers and enter what has been traditionally seen as a ‘man’s world’. We need to break the stereotypes of what they can and can’t do when it comes deciding on a career path.”
