Jeanette Forbes, Chief Executive of PCL Group has been awarded an OBE for Services to Business, Technology and Charity in the New Year 2020 Honours List.
“This has come as a huge surprise and I’m very humbled to have been recognised in this way,” said Jeanette. “The business community in the North-east of Scotland has gone through many challenges over the years, but always emerges stronger and more focussed. I see this award as an acknowledgement of the huge contribution which our region makes to the wider Scottish and UK economy, and I think it particularly recognises the impact made by the SME sector.
“I’ve worked incredibly hard and faced many personal challenges to build my own businesses and I’m extremely proud of what has been achieved by my loyal team. Along the way, the advice and encouragement I’ve had from others has been invaluable.
“Because of this, I believe it’s important to give something back to the community and I’m very pleased that I’ve been able to support a number of charities which are close to my heart. It’s also important to me to acknowledge a city and shire which has provided me with a career and a living for so many years enabling me to promote to a wider audience the opportunities it provides for the people who live and work here.”
